Brazil was the only South American country to support World War II allies.
Seventy-five years after contributing troops to support the Allied cause in the Second World War, the Brazilian Army has participated with the U.S. military at the Joint Readiness Training Center (JRTC) in Louisiana. This coordination is the result of the Staff Talks Program in which the staff of the nations’ armies discuss bilateral partnerships and increase partner nation army interaction.
“This Brazilian airborne company presence and participation in one of the Army’s combat training centers represents the first time we’ve had a partner army from South America participate in one of these rotations,” U.S. Army South commander Major General Daniel Walrath said. “This is a continuation of 75 years of history together already, certainly a historic milestone, we see as just a continuation of our ever-increasing partnership.”
